Damiana leaves have been used as an aphrodisiac and to boost sexual potency by the native peoples of Mexico, including the Mayan Indians and is used for both male and female sexual stimulation, increased energy, asthma, depression, impotence and menstrual problems. Leonotis leonurus is also known as wild dagga (‘wild cannabis’) and lion’s tail. Wild dagga flowers and leaves were smoked by the Hottentot tribe of southern Africa because of its euphoric effect. Pedicularis Densiflora, sometimes called Indian Warrior, is a flowering perennial herb native to California and Oregon. The flower buds and/or foliage are commonly found in herbal smoking blends and are sometimes used in teas. The plant was traditionally used by Native Americans for its medicinal, sedative and tranquilizing properties, support for insomnia and nerve pain. The buds are of a magenta color.
